Reception - Lent A Term

 Hello Year 5,  

Unbelievably, we are in our final week of Lent Term A! I know we are all very impressed at your work this term. You showed fantastic science knowledge on your weekly zoom.  

Focus of our Class Zoom Meetings (09/02/2020): Mental health and well-being. We will be discussing our recent PSHE lessons. In particular, we will be looking at what it means to be resilient!  

This week we will be continuing our English writing on the Battle of Trafalgar, completing a detailed newspaper report. This report will be marked by your teachers. In maths we will be continuing with fractions, and working on multiplying mixed numbers, before moving on to look at ratios and percentages.  

Continuing in our PKC units, in history we will be summarising our work this term – looking all the way back to beginning of the French Revolution, right up to Napoleon’s final exile. In science this week we will be showcasing all of our learning over this term, connecting the structure of the Earth with the formation of mountains and causes of earthquakes and volcanoes. Geography will see us producing a detailed non-chronological report on the different areas of the UK we have studied, comparing and contrasting them.
